Mezuzah

"And you shall write [the words that I command you today] on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." -Deuteronomy 6:9, 11:19

A Mezuzah, which means "doorpost" in Hebrew, is a small parchment inscribed with short Torah passages in Hebrew. The primary purpose of hanging a Mezuzah is to fulfill the biblical commands imposed by God. The Mezuzah also serves as a reminder of God's laws and presence.
